Introduction

ASEAN Universities International Conference on Islamic Finance (AICIF) has become a prestige international conference organized by co-organizers among six various universities across ASEAN alternately. The following are the lists of past conferences organized prior to this event:
1)    1st AICIF was held on 6 - 7 November 2013 by International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM);
2)    2nd AICIF  was held on 13 - 14 November 2014 Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga, Jogjakarta;
3)    3rd AICIF  was held on 17 - 19 November 2015 by Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA), Semarang; and
4)    4th AICIF was held on 6 - 8 December 2016 by IIUM.

Year 2017 will be the first AICIF held in Brunei Darussalam and Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) will be hosting this esteemed conference.

This conference is also part of UNISSA’s events in celebrating a decade establishment of UNISSA on 1st January 2007.


Objectives

The objectives to be achieved in this 5th AICIF are:
1)    To discuss and analyze the contemporary development on Islamic banking and Finance;
2)    To provide recommendations to stakeholders of Islamic banking and finance (academicians, practitioners and policy makers) for            the future prospect of Islamic banking and Finance; and
3)    To strengthen the relationship among the universities in ASEAN countries that offers Islamic finance program through co-                      organizing in this conference.
