The Faculty of Major Language Studies was established in 2004 with its first student intake for the Bachelor of Arts in Arabic and Communications in the 2005/2006 academic session. The faculty was founded with the aim to produce knowledgeable, competent and professional graduates in languages and other related fields. With the founding of the faculty, it is hoped that the field of language study can be expanded by means of examining, researching and disseminating knowledge in the fields of languages, linguistics and education. In extension to this, the faculty upholds USIM�s own philosophy of the integration of Aqli (acquired) and Naqli (revealed) knowledge through its advocacy of both the English Language and Arabic as well as other languages of the world. The faculty is committed to produce multi-lingual, cultured, graduates with a high ability to function in a multidisciplinary environment, essential towards building a developed and competitive nation in accordance with the university�s and national aspiration.
