The 2nd International Tertiary Education Language and Innovation Conference 2024 (ITELIC2024) is organised by the Centre for the Advancement of Language Competence (CALC), Universiti Putra Malaysia. ITELIC2024 is a virtual conference to bring together esteemed practitioners, scholars, and researchers on a single online platform with the aim of providing greater accessibility and flexibility for all to exchange ideas, research findings, and experiences on the teaching and learning of languages at institutions of higher learning.
With the theme “Reinventing Tertiary Language Teaching and Learning in the Digital World”, it is our pleasure to invite all respected colleagues in this field to submit research papers on innovations in language teaching and learning approaches, curriculum and material designs and development, alternative proficiency assessments, and issues related to second language teaching and learning in the artificial intelligence (AI) era.
We are also pleased to announce that presenters have the options to the publish their extended abstracts in the special issue of Advance magazine, the official e-research magazine published by CALC that comes with an ISBN number.

a. Registration and submission of Full Paper must be done electronically through this online submission system.
• Click on the "Registration" menu to create ConfBay Account and proceed for conference registration by logging in the system.
• Click on "Online Submission" menu to submit your abstract(s).

Guidelines for Abstract Submission
You are cordially invited to submit abstracts for virtual presentations addressing the conference main theme: “Reinventing Tertiary Language Teaching and Learning in the Digital World” and any of the topics related to innovation, language teaching and learning, and tertiary education.
✔ Papers should be original and have not been published or presented in any other conference in any form.
✔ Types of Presentation:
- Virtual Oral Presentation
- Presenter(s) are required to submit a pre-recorded video with the recommended duration between 15-20 minutes. Extra 5 minutes will be allocated for Q&A and presenter(s) are expected to be on the online platform during the conference.
- Video format: MP4
✔ Language of presentations: English or Malay language
✔ Abstract format:
o Presentation titles should be less than 20 words.
o Abstracts should be 200-250 words in length with information on the background, purpose, method, results, and conclusion/implications.
o Please include a 50-word biodata of the author(s).
o Please submit your abstract using the conference submission system.
✔ Each paper should have no more than three authors.
✔ Deadline for submission of abstracts: 15 May 2024
✔ Notification of Acceptance: 30 May 2024
✔ Submissions are accepted on the basis that at least one presenter registers and attends the conference.
