On behalf of the organizing committee, we are glad to invite you to take part in the Regional Islamic Entrepreneurship and Business Conference (RIEBC 2016) to present your research findings, innovative ideas, latest technologies and up-to-date methodologies in the field of Islamic banking and finance, economics, business and any other interdisciplinary research relevant to Islamic economics and business.
This conference is organized by Faculty of Business Innovation and Accounting, Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka (KUIM) and will be held at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Melaka, Malaysia. The general aim of the conference is to promote international collaboration in research and to bring together academicians, practitioners and industrial experts to a common forum on the issue of Islamic entrepreneurship, leadership, social business, social enterprise, non-profit organizations and development of philantrophy.
The conference will provide an excellent opportunity for exchange of ideas and information among researchers, academicians, practitioners and students. This conference is expected to provide meaningful findings and recent updates on the issues.

The scope of RIEBC 2016 includes but not limited to the following topics:

Registration and submission of full paper and camera-ready must be done electronically through the online submission system. Click on the "Registration" menu to create ConfBay Account (for First time user) and proceed for conference registration by logging in the system. Click on "Online Submission" menu to submit your full paper / manuscript.
Submission should be made to one or more of the following categories. Manuscript submission must be in English and Malay. The official language for this conference is English and Malay.
Publication Opportunities
All accepted papers will be publish in Abstract Book and in the journal of Jurnal Ilmi (ISSN 1823-9102), Jurnal Ulwan (ISSN 2504-8511), Jounal of Business Innovation (JBI) which is a refereed journal and ONLY accepted paper will be publish in Scopus Indexed Journal.
Due to overwhelming demand, the abstract submission date was extended to 15 July 2016 HOWEVER kindly be informed that, abstract submitted after 9 June 2016 will not be published in the proceedings. In this matter, abstract submitted after 9 June 2016 will continue to be published in journals with all accepted papers as stated before.

Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim
Muhammad Ali Hashim is President of the Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Commerce (MICC) and Chairman, Awqaf Holdings Malaysia Bhd, Malaysia’s first community-driven Corporate Waqf.
He was recognised as an outstanding Malaysian corporate entrepreneur after a successful 28-year career as CEO of Johor Corporation (JCorp, 1982-2010).
At the end of his tenure as CEO, JCorp was recognised as one of Malaysia’s outstanding corporations with more than 280 companies and 65,000 employees. Eight companies were listed, one on the London Stock Exchange, with total market capitalisation value at end 2010 of RM18.1 billion.
JCorp recorded these achievements through integrating core Islamic values and world-view, redefining many aspects of known management concepts and corporate practices. Among the bold and innovative ideas put into practice by Muhammad Ali include: Business Jihad, Corporate Waqf and Intrapreneurship or Amanah Entrepreneurship.
JCorp launched Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Bhd, Malaysia’s first Corporate Waqf entity in 2006. Its waqf asset value at end 2014 exceeded RM500 million. In 2015, through MICC, Muhammad Ali established Awqaf Holdings Berhad, Malaysia’s second Corporate Waqf entity, involving the development of a RM430 million Awqaf Corporate Park at Putrajaya, Malaysia.
Muhammad Ali has written four books, the latest under the titles Khalifah Ganti Superman (2011) and Strategi Jihad Bisnes (Business Jihad Strategy), (October, 2015).
In October, 2015, Muhammad Ali was listed as one of The Muslim 500 – The World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims 2016, by The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, Amman, Jordan.
