Chief Minister of Melaka

Y.A.B Datuk Seri Ir. Haji Idris bin Haron was born 13 May 1966 at Asahan, Melaka. He is a Malaysian politician and current Chief Minister of Melaka. He was a member of the Parliament of Malaysia from 2004 to 2013 and became a deputy minister in 2008. He left federal politics in 2013, winning election to the Malacca State Legislative Assembly and becoming the state's chief minister. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) party in the Barisan Nasional coalition. Internationally, he is the President of World Assembly of Youth.

Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim

 

Muhammad Ali Hashim is President of the Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Commerce (MICC) and Chairman, Awqaf Holdings Malaysia Bhd, Malaysia’s first community-driven Corporate Waqf.

He was recognised as an outstanding Malaysian corporate entrepreneur after a successful 28-year career as CEO of Johor Corporation (JCorp, 1982-2010).

At the end of his tenure as CEO, JCorp was recognised as one of Malaysia’s outstanding corporations with more than 280 companies and 65,000 employees. Eight companies were listed, one on the London Stock Exchange, with total market capitalisation value at end 2010 of RM18.1 billion.

JCorp recorded these achievements through integrating core Islamic values and world-view, redefining many aspects of known management concepts and corporate practices.  Among the bold and innovative ideas put into practice by Muhammad Ali include: Business Jihad, Corporate Waqf and Intrapreneurship or Amanah Entrepreneurship.

JCorp launched Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Bhd, Malaysia’s first Corporate Waqf entity in 2006.  Its waqf asset value at end 2014 exceeded RM500 million. In 2015, through MICC, Muhammad Ali established Awqaf Holdings Berhad, Malaysia’s second Corporate Waqf entity, involving the development of a RM430 million Awqaf Corporate Park at Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Muhammad Ali has written four books, the latest under the titles Khalifah Ganti Superman (2011) and Strategi Jihad Bisnes (Business Jihad Strategy), (October, 2015).

In October, 2015, Muhammad Ali was listed as one of The Muslim 500 – The World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims 2016, by The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, Amman, Jordan.
