INTRODUCTION

The global rise in addiction and mental health concerns is increasingly critical, affecting individuals, families, and communities. Addressing these challenges effectively requires a comprehensive, balanced approach that integrates both scientific interventions and spiritual considerations. Faith-based elements, particularly within Islamic teachings, can offer inner strength and hope for those struggling with addiction, supporting not only their minds but also their souls in the recovery process.

Under the theme “Healing Minds and Souls: Integrating Faith & Science in Overcoming Addiction,” The 3rd Global Muslim Mental Health Conference aims to spotlight mental health and addiction recovery from an Islamic perspective, combined with scientific methods. The conference serves as a dynamic platform for scholars, healthcare professionals, counsellors, and Muslim community leaders worldwide to exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices. By blending modern science and spiritual values, this gathering seeks to promote a more holistic and impactful approach to rehabilitation. Incorporating Islamic principles into evidence-based treatments can enhance resilience and impart deeper meaning to one’s life, ultimately strengthening recovery outcomes.

The conference also emphasizes the importance of tailoring treatment models to align with the cultural and religious contexts of Muslim communities, thereby improving acceptance and effectiveness. Through these efforts, a more comprehensive framework for addiction recovery may be established, offering a transformative paradigm for the wider community.
