Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Malaysia's Economic Transformation: Pioneering Growth, Innovation, and Sustainability

ABSTRACT:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing industries across the globe, offering unprecedented opportunities for economic growth and innovation. In Malaysia, the integration of AI technologies into key sectors such as manufacturing, services, agriculture, and finance is poised to reshape the nation's economic landscape. This keynote explores how AI can serve as a catalyst for Malaysia's economic transformation, driving productivity, innovation, and sustainability while ensuring that the country remains competitive in an increasingly digitalized global economy. The presentation will highlight key areas where AI can enhance efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and create new economic opportunities, particularly in high-growth sectors like e-commerce, healthcare, and smart cities. Special attention will be given to the role of AI in addressing labor market challenges, fostering human capital development, and promoting inclusive growth by bridging the digital divide. Additionally, the keynote will address the ethical and regulatory considerations necessary to ensure that AI's deployment aligns with Malaysias broader socio-economic goals, including sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and equitable growth. By examining case studies of successful AI implementations in both developed and emerging markets, this session will offer actionable insights for policymakers, industry leaders, and academics seeking to leverage AI for national progress. As Malaysia moves towards becoming a high-income nation, AI stands at the forefront of this transition, offering solutions that not only enhance economic performance but also contribute to long-term resilience and sustainability.
