INTRODUCTION

Faculty of Engineering Technology, UNIMAP is pleased to announce that we will be hosting The 1st International Conference on Science, Engineering and Technology (ICSET) 2020 on 27th February 2020, in Pulau Pinang, Malaysia with this year theme of “Empowering Emerging Technology”.

The 1st International Conference on Science, Engineering and Technology (ICSET) 2020 is the inaugural international conference to be organised by the Faculty of Engineering Technology, UniMAP. The aim is to provide a platform to professionals, researchers, academicians and industries to share and generate interest in cutting-edge applications, challenges and issues in the area of engineering technology encompasses several topics in chemical, electrical, electronic, civil and mechanical engineering. The theme of the conference this year has been chosen in view of the current revolution and rapid developments in the field of engineering technology. A special keynote speaker will be invited to share his idea of the current trend in engineering technology.

The Faculty of Engineering Technology which is located in UniMAP Uniciti Alam Campus, Padang Besar, Perlis is the only faculty with five different engineering technology departments; namely mechanical, chemical, electrical, electronics and civil engineering under one roof. The diversification gives benefit to Faculty of Engineering Technology since the conference theme can be expanded to broad engineering disciplines. Thus, it is attractive and expected to increase the number of participants that can attend the conference. This conference will offer several tracks focusing on advances on mechanical and materials, electrical, electronics and computer engineering, advances in civil and environmental engineering, and in chemical engineering and biotechnology.

A keynote session devoted exclusively to emerging research in science and technology. Monozukiri concept in designing the specialized equipment to obtain the precise fundamental data will be delivered by the keynote speaker. The speaker has received numerous industrial grants in designing a precise equipment for phase equilibrium data. The highlight of this conference is that all peer-reviewed and accepted papers will be published in Journal of Physics indexed by SCOPUS. In order to maintain the quality of the paper, we will set the acceptance rate to be at 20%, which is commonly exercised by other conference organizers.
