Competition Categories:

We welcome contestant from various backgrounds and expertise levels. The competition is divided into five categories:

• Diamond Category: Entrepreneurs, researchers, and professionals
• Ruby Category: Undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Emerald Category: TVET students/ vocational colleges students
• Sapphire Category: Secondary students
• Opal: Primary students

Important Date:

Early Bird Payment Deadline : 4th July 2025
Participation Registration Deadline : 15th August 2025
Video Submission Deadline : 20th August 2025
Judging Period : 21st August 2025 – 28th August 2025
Winner Announcement & Award Ceremony : 30th August 2025

Qualification Criteria:

• Minimum one (1) and maximum five (5) contestant for Diamond category
  
• Minimum one (1) of advisor/teacher/lecturer must be include in Opal, Sapphire, Emerald and Ruby category
• Minimum two (2) and maximum seven (7) contestant for Opal, Emerald and Ruby category

Video Guideline:

• Duration of video between three (3) to seven (7) minutes
• Clear sound and lighting
• Appropriate, polite and neat clothing
• Minimum background noise
• Upload your video to your Google drive and get a link. You must submit the link to us. You must ensure the link accessible for us to download
• Your video will be upload in our YouTube channel on 21st August 2025 (by participate in this competition, consent is given to us to publish your video publicly): https://www.youtube.com/@globalacademicexcellencems8175
• You may promote and share your video to your friends, colleagues and students. You are eligible for video lucky draw if your video have more than 500 views or/and 50 likes

Competition Rules & Regulations

• The competition is OPEN to all interested education institutions and government/ private agencies.
• Group members are regarded according to the name(s) listed in the registration.
• Contestant can submit their abstract in English or Bahasa Melayu.
• Contestant are ENCOURAGED to use English for their Innovation Video Presentation, BUT also can be produced in Bahasa Malaysia (with English subtitles).
• All Contestant will be evaluate based on the Scoring Guide.
• Decisions of JUDGE are FINAL. Any complaints will not be entertained.

Judging Criteria

All entries will be reviewed by a panel of experienced judges from academia and industry. Submissions will be evaluated based on the following key criteria:

• Problem Identification & Understanding
• Creativity of Idea 
• Innovative Approach/ Technology Applicable
• Market Potential/ Scalability/ Sustainability
• Feasibility & Implementation
• Impact & Relevance to Users/Society
• Presentation & Communication

Awards 

Recognition Awards by Category:
Each category (Opal, Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby and Diamond) will have the following awards:

• Gold Award: 90 - 100 (Scores based on evaluation by Judge) 
• Silver Award: 75 - 89 (Scores based on evaluation by Judge) 
• Bronze Award: 60 - 74 (Scores based on evaluation by Judge) 

Special Awards:

• Platinum Award : Contestant who have  most technologically advanced solution with most promising startup idea that can be realistic to be implemented and importantly give best impact to society.
  
• Young Innovator Award: Celebrating a young mind shaping the future through bold ideas with breakthrough innovation that blend with technology, passion, and purpose

      •  Click on "Submission" menu for submission.
