INTRODUCTION

Following the huge success of the 1st IFRC 2017 and the 2nd IFRC 2019, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) through the Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM), as the country’s forerunner institution in food and agriculture, is once again taking the initiative to organise the 3rd IFRC 2024. This global cooperative effort seeks to create a platform where all the great minds in food science and technology are gathered to discuss, decide, and drive the future directions of the food industry. Appropriately themed “Sustainable Food Industry through Science, Technology, and Innovation”, the 3rd IFRC 2024 aims to provide food researchers with the opportunity to exchange their opinions and views, as well as present their recent findings and innovations in the field of food, and identify the role of public-private partnership (public-private partnership) towards the sustainability of the food industry and food security by enhancing research collaboration, innovation, commercialisation, and internationalisation. The 3rd IFRC 2024 will include keynote and plenary presentations from renowned food scholars and industrial players, and oral and poster presentations. In addition, the 3rd IFRC 2024 will also organise a pre-conference workshop with three concurrent sessions in the fields of food science, food technology, and food service to tackle the current food-related issues post-COVID 19 pandemic. The 3rd IFRC 2024 welcomes all scientists, researchers, academics, entrepreneurs, industrial players, policy makers, government agencies, local, regional, and international non-governmental organisations, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of food. Set within the luscious locality of Putrajaya, where the federal administrative district of Malaysia is situated, get ready to be mesmerised by the amalgamation of urban and nature fusing into one, all the while laden with authentic menus and delicacies sure to stimulate and invoke unparalleled sensation to your palate. And if the tropical and equatorial clime is not invigorating you enough, the multiracial and multicultural environs of Malaysia will surely do. Welcome to Malaysia, and enjoy the 3rd IFRC 2024!
