The 10th International Islamic Monetary Economics and Finance Conference (10th IIMEFC)

"Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Growth with Sharia Economy amid the Age of Digitalization and Global Imbalances"

Organized By

Bank Indonesia

2nd - 3rd August 2024

(Hybrid Mode - Online and in Person)

BACKGROUND

The 10th International Islamic Monetary Economics and Finance Conference (10-IIMEFC) and call for papers is an annual event organized by the Journal of Islamic Monetary Economics and Finance (JIMF), a Scopus-indexed journal published by Bank Indonesia Institute. This conference, which is also part of a series of celebrations for Bank Indonesia's anniversary in 2024, serves as a forum for researchers, academics, practitioners, and policymakers from various countries to discuss strategic issues, share research findings, exchange ideas, and contribute to knowledge in the fields of Sharia economics and finance.

This year's conference theme is "Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Growth with Sharia Economy amid the Age of Digitalization and Global Imbalances". Global economic challenges, such as climate changes and geopolitical conflicts that disrupt supply chains, require each country to optimize its domestic economy and create new sources of economic growth by focusing on green economics and inclusiveness. The conference's theme emphasizes the significance of ecologically friendly (sustainable) and inclusive growth.

This conference is expected to encourage exploration of the various development approaches offered by Sharia economics and finance in achieving optimal and much higher quality economic growth by encouraging research on inclusiveness and green economy from the lens of Sharia economics and finance by leveraging on fast-emerging technology in the face of ongoing global challenges and uncertainty.

It is also envisaged that the conference would continue to serve as a beneficial venue for reaffirming communication and networking among economic researchers and academics nationally and internationally. In the future, IIMEFC's decade-long conference activities are likely to boost JIMF's position as a leading Islamic economic and finance journal in the region, if not the world.
