The Malaysian Journal of Consumer and Family Economics (MAJCAFE) is the official journal of Malaysian Consumer and Family Economics Association (MACFEA) whose main objective is to promote the wellbeing of consumers, families and business communities in Malaysia.

Aims & Scope:
The main purpose of the journal is to promote publications of research papers in the discipline of consumer and family economics in Malaysia. However, high-quality academic paper from any part of the world will be considered. The journal accepts contributions from all discipline such as economics, finance, business, management, laws and any other disciplines that promote the wellbeing of consumers economics and families economics

Frequency of Publication:
The journal is published twice a year, in June and December.

The journal is abstracted/indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), UDL Edge Social SWcience and Humanities Citation Index (SS&HCI) and Focus (Journals and Conference Proceedings).

Most importantly, MAJCAFE IS AN OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL (www.majcafe.com).

Publication Fees:
From 2020 onwards, MAJCAFE will charge minimal publication fees to cover the administrative fees for all papers accepted for publication. MACFEA members will be charged RM500 per article and non-MACFEA members will be charged RM600 per article while the international author will be charged USD200 per article. From November 2020 onwards, MAJCAFE is implementing a non-refundable desk review fees of RM50 (USD20 for international authors) for all manuscripts submitted for consideration. If the paper is accepted for publication, the RM50/USD20 desk review fees will be considered as part of the publication fees.

Registration and Submission Tips

1. Registration and submission must be done electronically through the online submission system.

2. For First time user, click on the "Register" on the top right menu to create ConfBay Account, and proceed for registration by logging in the system. For existing ConfBay Account user, please proceed to Login.

3. You must enter a valid email address. All notification will be sent via registered email.

4. Click on "Online Submission" menu to submit manuscript and follow the procedure.

5. Please submit your full paper in both abstract submission and full paper submission. 

Publication Process

1. The editorial desk selection process

At this stage, the editorial board will review your paper to check for the content, analysis and presentation that must be within the aims and scope of the journal apart from having rigorous analysis and findings. This process will only begin when author pay editorial desk selection fees. Authors will be notified the outcome of the editorial desk selection process within a month after submission. 


2. The blind review process

Once the manuscript has successfully passed the editorial desk selection process, the manuscript will be reviewed by two appointed reviewers. Upon receiving the reviewers' reports, the editorial board will decide to reject or to give conditional approval for the manuscript. Authors will be notified if their manuscript is rejected or accepted for publication. Accepted papers are returned to authors for amendment and corrections. The second process may take up to three months or more depending on the response of reviewers.


3. Proofreading and formatting process

The successful authors are required to submit amended paper togethers with publication fees and copyright form for the final publication process. Once all documents are in received and are in order, the amended papers will be proofread by professional proofreader before they are formatted and sent for printing. The proofreading and formatting process may take one to two months.


4. Printing and indexing process

Manuscripts will be sent for printing and will be uploaded in Majcafe website before they are send to SCOPUS for indexing. Please note that SCOPUS has the full rights and authority to index any papers submitted to SCOPUS. Indexing is totally beyond the control of MAJCAFE and therefore, MAJCAFE will not be held responsible, if for some reasons any manuscript is not indexed by SCOPUS. The printing, uploading and indexing process may take one to two months.
