Towards Sustainable Futures: Transformative Business, Education, and Governance in the Era of SDGs
Introduction
The theme “Towards Sustainable Futures: Transformative Business, Education, and Governance in the Era of SDGs” exhibits the urge of scholars, practitioners, and institutions to move beyond incremental thinking and work together, across business, education, and governance, to build the transformative systems that a sustainable world urgently demands. The conference addresses fourteen sub-thematic areas encompassing corporate social responsibility reporting, ESG disclosures, green finance, Islamic social finance, agribusiness economics, digital transformation, healthcare economics, tourism management, supply chain resilience, augmented workforce leadership, sustainability education, organizational transformation, and innovation in higher education. Those sub-thematic areas contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In specific, SDG 4 (Quality Education), through its focus on sustainability literacy, curriculum innovation, and institutional capacity in higher education; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), through its examination of digital transformation, agribusiness economics, healthcare management, and workforce leadership in the augmented economy; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), through its engagement with AI-driven disclosures, supply chain resilience, and research and innovation ecosystems; SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), through its inclusion of Islamic social finance, digital philanthropy, and rural policy frameworks that address marginalized and underserved communities; SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), through its treatment of CSR reporting, ESG accountability, and sustainable organizational practices; SDG 13 (Climate Action), through its deliberation on green finance, green sukuk, sustainable investment, and environmental governance; SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), through its focus on corporate accountability, governance transformation, and ethical leadership; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Collectively, The 25th MIICEMA 2026 aims to integrate sustainability principles across economic, institutional, and educational dimensions of society.
