Biotechnology plays a critical role in strengthening food and nutritional security, enhancing healthcare preparedness, supporting environmental sustainability, and accelerating the transition towards a robust bio-based economy. In line with Malaysia’s Dasar Bioteknologi Negara 2.0 (DBN 2.0), NBS 2026 emphasizes the integration of fundamental research with applied innovation, technology transfer, and commercialization to ensure that scientific discoveries are translated into tangible societal and economic benefits.
Building upon the success of previous symposiums, NBS 2026 highlights the convergence of modern biotechnological approaches across key sectors, including agricultural biotechnology, industrial and environmental biotechnology, medical and health biotechnology, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, and biomanufacturing.
