"Is Islamic Economics and Finance Theory & Practice in the Right Direction? A Critical Reflection on the Present and Strategic Insights for the Future"
Call for Papers
The 8th World Islamic Economics & Finance Conference (WIEFC 2025) invites scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and students to critically evaluate the current trajectory of Islamic Economics and Finance. This year's conference theme assesses whether Islamic Economics and Finance are progressing appropriately in theory and practice, aligning with the foundational Islamic principles amid modern socio-economic complexities. As we build on the knowledge and discussions from previous WIEFC conferences (2018-2024), this conference is pivotal in ensuring that Islamic finance remains relevant and robust against global challenges such as environmental sustainability, digital disruptions, and macroeconomic uncertainties. Our discussions will navigate through the conversion of national economies towards Islamization, the role and future prospects of the Islamic finance industry within global economic frameworks, and the strategic steps needed for further integration and compliance with Shariah principles. In particular, the conference will address questions and topics such as:
