These conferences aim to provide a platform of gathering academicians, researchers, practitioners and postgraduate students to share and exchange ideas, knowledge, and experiences on the current issues worldwide as well as finding solutions to the problems within the parameter of the conference scopes. In addition, the conferences will serve as an excellent opportunity to initiate a research collaboration network among participants with similar research interests from around the world.

Prospective researchers/authors are invited to submit their original and unpublished empirical or conceptual manuscripts.  All accepted full papers will be reviewed and the publication decision in MyCite/Scopus indexed journal will be made by the conference reviewing committee based on the quality and content suitability of the papers submitted. The authors could also opt to publish their papers in the conference e-proceedings.

1.0       INTRODUCTION

 

 

The 7th INCOMaR 2019 Conference & 12th Tourism Outlook Conference will be jointly organised by the Institute of Business Excellence (IBE) and Faculty of Hotel & Tourism Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA that aims to bring together the academicians, industry players, policymakers and post graduate students in the area of tourism, hospitality, retailing and marketing throughout the region and across the globe. Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the international collaborator that will host the conferences. This two established conferences will be supported by international and local collaborators namely: Northern Arizona University,  International Geographical Union (IGU), Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, Kuala Lumpur, Tabung Haji Travel & Services, University Travel Center (UniTC) and Islamic Tourism Center, Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia. The theme of the conference is:

 

Customer Centric:  Survive and Thrive in Business”

 

The theme reflects the current headlines in business, not only on consumer products but also within the service sector such as tourism and hospitality, where, being customer-centric is vital to survive and thrive in today's competitive business environment. Today’s increasingly demanding customers want to shop whenever, wherever and however they desire and expect an increasingly seamless experience across channels. A customer-centric company is in the business of making people happy and offers customers a delightful journey that has a significant impact on brand experience and ultimately loyalty. By focusing on every customer touch-points, marketers' strategy revolves around 'markets with the customer at heart.' Businesses that adopted a customer-centric mind set and leveraged on consumer trend, experienced an increase in orders and increased in new customers.

We believe that there should be a platform that bridges the gap between theories and practices, where academic scholars meet the industry players in an impactful intellectual discourse, which this conference seeks to accomplish. Thus, against this backdrop, the Institute of Business Excellence and Faculty of Hotel and Tourism, UiTM collaborate with Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University to organise a proactive and interactive learning experience through these two conferences:

The two conferences are a step bringing business, academics (specifically from Malaysia, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and within the region) and policymakers together. Without a doubt, they need each other – the academics may be poor financially, but ever willing to share their wealth of knowledge while businesses and policymakers have experiences which will augment the journey to a better future. Together, we can create a superior education quality that enhances business practices and performance in this borderless world.

 

 

             The joint conference seeks to:

 

·             provide a global platform for researchers in the fields of business management, marketing, retailing, tourism and hospitality to disseminate and enrich solutions to emerging issues and challenges for these two fields;

·             encourage cross-disciplinary dialogues by integrating different research findings and knowledge from diverse geographical, sectorial and institutional perspectives;

·             engage participants in intellectual discourses where theories and practices are dissected and discussed through the sharing of findings in both applied and basic research studies;

·             encourage academics, practitioners, and students explore and learn new and innovative techniques, specifically in the areas of marketing, retailing, entrepreneurship, tourism, hospitality and customer service;

·             provide an avenue for postgraduate students to strengthen their communication skill and confidence to present their research findings;

·             bring about a global alliance to enhance the quality and strength of the International Conference on Marketing and Retailing (INCOMaR) and Tourism Outlook Conference (TOC).
