4th International Conference on Islamic Economics 2025 (4th ICONIE 2025)

Date:
22 & 23 April 2025 (Physical & Online)

Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, Turkey

Theme: "Economic Justice through Islamic Principles: Responding to Global Conflicts and Inequality"

INTRODUCTION

The International Research Centre of Islamic Economics and Finance (IRCIEF-UIS) in collaboration with Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University (IZU), Turkey will be organising the 4th ICONIE 2025 to discuss the role of Islamic economics in addressing current issues related to social justice, economic inequality, and sustainable development globally.

With the theme "Economic Justice through Islamic Principles: Responding to Global Conflicts and Inequality", the conference aims to bring together academics, researchers, industry experts, and policymakers worldwide to share perspectives and the latest studies related to Islamic economic principles. Islamic economics, which emphasizes justice, equitable wealth distribution, and the prohibition of usury, is increasingly relevant as an alternative model to address global economic crises, social imbalances, and poverty.

The conference will also explore practical applications of Islamic economics in areas affected by conflict and inequality, such as Gaza, Africa, and Southeast Asia. It will focus on sustainable and just solutions through wealth distribution, ethical trade, and long-term aid mechanisms. Thus, this conference is deemed essential to raise awareness of the importance of Islamic economics in addressing contemporary global conflicts and issues.
